“The appearance of the name 'Gdiniô' on city entrance signs is a moment of immense historical and symbolic importance for our community. It is a daily visible sign that Gdynia—this wonderful city born from the sea and dreams—remembers its roots and takes pride in the fact that Kashubians largely built the port here.”

“Kashubians are not only those who use the language daily—that is simply what the legislature foresaw. Kashubians are also those who declare a Kashubian identity, and there are five times more of them in Gdynia than people who speak Kashubian on a daily basis.”

“More and more tourists are coming to Gdynia, and it is our duty not to forget that we have a Kashubian identity and Kashubian roots. I am a native Gdynian, and I am also Kashubian. We originate from a small village that developed right here.”

“It is worth knowing and realizing the history of this place. Yes, Gdynia was born on Kashubian land. Today we are all very proud of this, and what unites us is the community of our wonderful small homeland—our city. This matter is important to many of our residents, and I encourage everyone to support this motion.”
